Julie L. Harter
Julie L. Harter, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother
OLEAN — Julie Lynn Harder, 67, passed away peacefully Friday (April 3, 2026) to join her loved ones in the afterlife.
Born Dec. 19, 1958, Julie was a woman whose life was defined by her roles as a devoted wife, a loving mother and a proud grandmother.
While her health in later years kept her from attending every outing, Julie’s heart was always present. She was her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader from afar, never missing an opportunity to follow up on their latest adventures. Whether it was a small goal reached or a major achievement, Julie made sure everyone knew how much she beamed with pride for “her kids.” Her family was her greatest joy and her favorite topic of conversation.
Her legacy of love lives on through her children and the many grandchildren she adored.
She is survived by her daughter, Staci (Tony Brockel) Tarr; her sons, Bradley Tarr and Jessie Tarr; her grandchildren, Giden Tarr, Greyson Brockel, Mercedes, Devon and Jaeden; and her great-granddaughter, Kyla, affectionately known as “Little Red.”
Julie was a woman who was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with those she lost too soon.
Julie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Hondo” Harder; her son, Richard James Tarr on Jan. 5, 2021; her parents, Maude and Richard Reed; and two infant siblings, Richard and Terry.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday (April 8, 2026) at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean, at which time a funeral service will be held. The Rev. Mark Chapman, pastor of Allegany Baptist Church, will officiate.
