ALLEGANY — Sandra J. Watson-Eaton, of Allegany, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday (April 1, 2026) at Olean General Hospital.
Born Nov. 3, 1943, in Olean, she was one of five children born to Harry and Alma Borowsky Boser. She was married to Jerry M. Eaton, who predeceased her Nov. 1, 2015.
Sandra was a 1961 graduate of Portville Central School and in 1964 graduated as a registered nurse from St. James Hospital School of Nursing in Hornell.
She was employed as a nursing supervisor at the Cattaraugus County Nursing Home in Machias for many years. She then worked many more years as a nurse at Allegany Central School while concurrently working as a health and addiction counselor and for the Cattaraugus County WIC program. At the school in Allegany, she started the “Breakfast at School” program and also received the NYS Nurse of Distinction award.
She was both a consultant and later a director for Mary Kay Cosmetics and received numerous awards and was actively selling up to the time of her death.
Sandra was a longtime member of St. Bonaventure Church.
Her family was the love of her life, and she enjoyed home hobbies such as cooking, professional cake making, crocheting and knitting. She also loved the outdoors and liked to hunt and fish. A favorite destination for relaxation was at her house on Lake Erie.
She leaves behind her five daughters, Jennifer (Kent) Miller of Arcade, Marie (Andrew Hitchcock) Watson of Olean, Libby (Adam) Wojciechowski of Cuba, Laura (Randy Murray) Watson of Portville and Dr. Claire (Mathew Goldsmith) Watson of Allegany; nine grandchildren, Christian Watson, Bryn (Patrick) McDaniels, Ellen Rumsey, Joshua Watson, Dr. Clayton Rumsey, Hannah (Corey) McAndrews, Jonah Watson, Caleb Watson and Alexander Arabatzis; six great-grandchildren, Graham Watson, Lucille McDaniels, Winona McDaniels, Josephine McDaniels, Ezra McAndrews and Indigo McAndrews; four siblings, Joyce Babel, Muriel Brown, Barbara Boser and Andrew Boser; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; and a son, Milton J. Watson Jr. on July 17, 2000.
The family welcomes friends to a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (April 9, 2026) at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday (April 10, 2026) at St. Bonaventure Church. Cremation will follow, with burial to be at the convenience of the family.
