Ruth E. Edwards, loving mother and wife

WELLSVILLE — Ruth E. Edwards, formerly of Bolivar, passed away Sunday (March 29, 2026) at the Wellsville Manor.

Ruth was born March 24, 1931, in West Clarksville, and was the daughter of Sidney and Mildred R. Childs LaFever. On April 5, 1952, at the EUB Church in Obi, she married the love of her life, Lyle P. Edwards, who predeceased her Feb. 4, 2022.

Ruth was a founding member of the Faith Bible Church in Little Genesee in 1970.  She and her husband served as a missionary in the Philippines for 17 months and made a short-term mission trip to Venezuela. Ruth was a Prayer Warrior and loved the Lord.

She volunteered at Jones Memorial Hospital.

Ruth is survived by a son, Steven (Wanda) Edwards of Bolivar; two daughters, Linda (Larry) St. Lawrence of Great Falls, Mont. and Kathleen (Daniel) Simpson of Rapid City, S.D.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sandra LaFever of Obi; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her loving husband, Lyle, Ruth was predeceased by her parents; and three siblings, Nancy Wagner, Richard (Betty) LaFever and S. Michael LaFever.

Services will be private. Burial will be in the West Genesee Cemetery, Obi.
