CUBA — Joyce R. Pulver Law, 88, of Cuba, passed away Saturday (March 28, 2026) at Cuba Memorial Hospitals Palliative Care Unit, after a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 7, 1937, in Penn Yan, she was a daughter of Roger and Mary Mattice Pulver. On Jan. 24, 1959, in Lawrenceville, Pa., she married Larry E. Law, who preceded her in death on March 3, 2017.
Joyce was a graduate of Penn Yan High School, Class of 1955.
She was an insurance Broker for Haynes Mabey Agency in Cuba until 1985, then she and her husband moved to Dover, Pa., where she was employed by York Chrysler Plymouth and Diehl Motor Co., in York, Pa. Later she worked part-time as a bookkeeper at the Grandview Golf Course in York, retiring in 2002.
Joyce was treasurer for the Dover Historical Society and for the East Berlin Historical Preservation Society until she and her husband returned to Cuba in 2011. In Cuba, she became involved with the Cuba Historical Society, where she maintained their website and volunteered at Palmer Opera House.
Surviving are a son, James Law of Cuba; two daughters, Tina (Robin) Edwards of Cuba and Sharon Law of Rochester; three grandchildren, Amber Allison, Kristin (Robert) Hughes and Jordan (Cassandra) Zalar; two great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Edward Pulver of Waterloo; a sister, Althea Spears of Penn Yan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Delores Pulver.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (April 1, 2026) at the Mark F. Rinker Funreal Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba. Pastor Claudia Little will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Avoca.
Memorials may be made to the Allegany County Office of the Aging or charity of the donor’s choice.
