RUSHFORD — Ronald J. Murray Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior in the early morning on Wednesday (March 25, 20260, surrounded by his loving family in his home.
He was born July 6, 1939, in Farmersville, a son of the late Clifford and Eunice Burrell Murray. On June 24, 1967, in Franklinville, he married Amelia M. Weaver, and is now reunited with her in Heaven.
Ron and Amy made a beautiful life together living in Farmersville Center, where they raised four children who survive; Brian Kelsey of Westport, Susan (Ken) McElheny of Rushford, Cynthia (Wayne) Bennion of Castile and Ronald Murray Jr. of Rushford; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way, all of whom he adored; a brother, Clifford Murray of North Carolina; a sister, Joyce Ida of Illinois; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and a few of his beloved hunting buddies.
Ron devoted a substantial portion of his career to Fisher Price in Holland, where he served with commitment until his retirement.
Demonstrating a lifelong pursuit of knowledge after retiring he engaged in carpentry and electrical classes at BOCES, reflecting his passion for craftsmanship and continuous learning. Afterward, he brought his expertise to Value in Yorkshire, where he continued to apply his talents with the same dedication.
Ron cherished the outdoors, often immersing himself in nature’s quiet beauty. He found great joy watching the birds and was an avid hunter and fisherman, pursuits that spoke to his deep appreciation of the natural world. Additionally, he was an avid sports enthusiast, closely following football, hockey and baseball. His loyalty was evident in his unwavering support for the New York Yankees, Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.
Most notably, Ronald valued the time spent with his family and friends, cherishing these relationships.
Family and friends may gather from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday (April 3, 2026) and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Rev. Jerry Clark, pastor of the Rawson Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Bellville Cemetery, Town of New Hudson. A Celebration of Life will follow the burial at the Fillmore Fire Hall.
