FILLMORE  — Craig Charles Hodnett, 76, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, at his home in Fillmore, surrounded by his family.

Craig was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a career as a banker and took pride in his work.

Those who knew Craig knew that he had a wonderful sense of humor. He was funny in a way that made people feel at ease. If you knew him, you laughed with him. He was kind, steady, and deeply caring. Above all, Craig was an amazing father and grandfather. He loved his family wholeheartedly and took great pride in being a dad and “Grandpa Craig,” always showing up with love, support, and quiet strength.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Bayer, and son-in-law, Drew Bayer; his beloved granddaughter, Fiona Bayer; his brother, Gary Hodnett, and sister-in-law, Patty Hodnett; his nieces, Tammy Gordon (Jason Thomas) and Tara Washburn (Bill Washburn); and his former wife and friend, Brenda Hodnett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Hodnett and Marlie Hodnett.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Teresa Hubbard and Desi Armison for the love, compassion, and care they showed Craig and his family during this time.

A private burial will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
