Penelope D. ‘Penny’ Frederick, mother, grandmother, sister
CUBA — Penelope D. “Penny” Frederick, 71, of 3 ½ Orchard St., Cuba, passed away Monday (March 16, 2026) at Buffalo General Hospital, after a short illness.
Born Oct. 17, 1954, in Olean, she was a daughter of Hubert and Annabelle Ecker Snyder.
Penny was a graduate of Cuba Central School, Class of 1974.
She had worked at Cuba Memorial Hospital, at both Cuba Central School and Friendship Central School in the laundry department, and last for Motorola in Arcade prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed word searches, card games including euchre and rummy, playing the slots, cooking and baking.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph G. (Brandy) Frederick of Olean, Robert (Rachel) Frederick of Auburn and Jonathon Ward of Cuba; seven grandchildren; her siblings, Tom Snyder of Glendora, Calif., Richard Snyder of Caneadea, Millie Johnson of Coldwater, Miss., Alice Bunk of Cuba, Mary Ann Spence of Belmont, Rose Snyder of Glendora, Linda (Richard) Haagen of Virginia Beach, Va. and Kathy (Chuck) Babbitt of Caneadea; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Edward Snyder and Lloyd (Rose) Snyder.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (March 27, 2026) at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba. A memorial service will begin at 8 p.m.
