CUBA — Edward Bee Schrlau, 68, of Cuba, passed away after a very courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday (March 15, 2026) in the comfort of his home.
He was born Aug. 28, 1957, in Wellsville, to the late Clifford and Louise Ost Schrlau.
After high school he went on to work at Mayer Brauser before starting his career at Hull Electric until his retirement in 2020.
Ed had a deep relationship with his faith, was an avid golfer and bowler, enjoyed camping, spending time with his family, and was a lifetime Buffalo Bills fan. He had a unique sense of humor and “Ed-isms” that will be remembered by those closest to him.
He is survived by his loving partner, Anna Riley of Cuba; son, Edward Schrlau of Allegany; daughters, Lynn (Todd) DePuy of Allegany and Crystal (Rich Jr.) Dinch of Bradford Pa.; along with his stepchildren, Jamie (Julie) Riley, Whitney (Elliott) Marino and Brendon (Jen Santos) Riley, all of Cuba; several grandchildren, Tanisha Sprester of Norfolk Va., Triston Watson of Lewis Run Pa., Tommy DePuy of Allegany, Corbin Watson and Josh Watson of Bradford, Aerabella Schrlau and Aerika Schrlau of Allegany, Faith Dinch, Maddy Cinch and Chase Dinch of Bradford; step-grandchildren, Kaleb and Jacob Riley and Elliott Marino of Cuba; four sisters, Onalee (Tom) Weaver of Bradford, Mary Barrett of Rochester, Sandy (John Crawford) Sherwood of Wellsville and Sherri Schrlau of Leroy; sister-in-law, Kay Schrlau of Wellsville; several loving nieces and nephews; and his fur babies, Bella and Dot.
He is predeceased by both his parents; and one brother, Howard “Bill” Schrlau.
A private family service will be held at the family’s discretion.
In lieu of flowers, please make any donations in his name to the American Cancer Society or Rescue Pups of Friendship, where his beloved Bella was adopted.
