Friends of Hanley Library to host presentation on AI

BRADFORD, Pa. — The Friends of Hanley Library will host a presentation, “Beyond the Hype: Understanding Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Your Daily Life,” at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 16, in the Mukaiyama University Room of the Frame-Westerberg Commons at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.

Kimberly Bailey, reference and instruction librarian at Pitt-Bradford’s Hanley Library, will be joined by invited guest presenters to offer an accessible and informative look at artificial intelligence and its growing role in everyday life.

Topics will include what AI can and cannot do, how it can simplify daily tasks, common myths surrounding the technology and pitfalls to be aware of. Presenters will also explore AI advances across a range of fields, including entertainment, healthcare, communications and the sciences.

Whether curious about AI or simply wanting to separate fact from fiction, the presentation is designed for attendees of all backgrounds and experience levels. Dessert items and beverages will be served.

Attendance is free and open to the public.
