LITTLE VALLEY — Robert A. Baase, 70, of Little Valley, passed away Sunday (March 8, 2026) at Olean General Hospital.
He was born April 18, 1955, in Salamanca, the son of the late Robert W. and Lorraine “Susie” Smallman Baase.
On May 3, 1986, he married the former Margaret Miles, who survives.
Mr. Baase served as an EMT and fireman with Little Valley Vol. Fire Dept. and Seneca Nation Ambulance Service for over 30 years. His life was dedicated to service.
He was an avid outdoorsman, a Cub Scout Leader and he attended Valley Christian Assembly in Salamanca. He enjoyed local history and his own family history.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas (Kara) Baase of East Randolph; two daughters, Pamela Baase of Massena and Genabeth Baase of Salamanca; and six grandchildren, Jaxsen, O’Ryan, Freya, Zoey, Lily and Isaiah. Also surviving is an adopted daughter, Kari (James) Wampler of Gowanda; and he also helped raise Alex Morgan, Prestyn Washington, Darius Washington and Nevaeh Morgan. He is also survived by a sister, Bonnie Baase of Little Valley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr.Baase was predeceased by two sisters, Donna Baase and Betty Mettler.
Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday (March 13, 2026) at the Valley Christian Assembly in Salamanca. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday (March 13, 2026) from the church.
Memorials may be made to the Valley Christian Assembly.
