Lois M. Davie McAllister, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother
PORTVILLE — Lois M. McAllister, of 1671 Haskell Road, passed away in her home on Thursday (March 5, 2025) after battling dementia the past few years.
Born Oct. 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Abijah and Minnie Ferris Davie. On May 14, 1955, she married her late husband, Ronald N. McAllister, who passed away Nov. 11, 2025.
She was a 1952 graduate of Olean High School.
She worked in the office at Bradner’s Department Store for many years until their closing in the early 1980s. Later she worked at Vivian’s Dress Shop on Union Street until she retired in 1999.
She was a member of the Portville Music Boosters and chaperoned bus trips while her daughter participated in the Portville Marching Band for many years. She was also a member of the Portville Lion’s Club and the Coaster Club.
For years, she enjoyed line dancing with her friends at local parades and events around the area. She was also a member of the Olean Baptist Church for over 70 years.
She never missed the opportunity to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in sporting events, concerts or anything they were involved in.
She leaves behind her daughter, Linda (Randy) Hill; two grandchildren, Bradley (Carolyn) Hill of Mechanicsville, Va. and Kaitlin Hill of Portville; six great-grandchildren, Tanner, Emersyn and Tatum Hill of Mechanicsville and MaciMae Hill, Carson Emley and Austin Rodriguez of Portville; and several nieces and nephews.
Lois is predeceased by her parents; and husband, Ronald.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday (March 11, 2026) at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean, at which time a funeral service will be held.
