Wendy A. Boldt, loving wife, mother and grandmother

WEST VALLEY — Wendy A. Boldt, of Plato Road, passed away Tuesday (March 3, 2026) at Olean General Hospital.

Wendy was born Jan. 4, 1952, in Salamanca, and was the daughter of George and Shirley Deiter Wilcox. On May 20, 1972, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ellicottville, she married her high school sweetheart of almost 54 years, Earl E. Boldt, who survives.

Wendy was a 1970 graduate of Ellicottville Central School; she continued her education at the St. Francis School of Nursing in Olean in 1971.

She worked as an LPN for her whole career in various places including the Olean General Hospital Emergency Department for about 10 years in the early 2000s then for Dr. Thayaparan Mathanakaran for about 10 years until her retirement in 2022.

Wendy enjoyed quilting, flower gardening and feeding birds. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them, especially her grandchildren. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Wendy is survived by her loving husband, Earl; a son, Eric E. (Kristine) Boldt of Sharon Spring, Kan.; six grandchildren, Chad, William, Cooper, Neil, Hunter and Brayden; three great-grandchildren, Wayne, Jaxston and Nyla; three sisters, Chris (Doug) Prey of Great Valley, Darlene Hollaren of Illinois and Melody Wilcox; and several nieces and nephews.

Wendy was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Tracy Boldt on Dec. 2, 2019; and two sisters, Kim Bradfield and Dianna Fraizer.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 6360 Route 242, Ellicottville, NY 14731.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean.
