DUNCANVILLE, Texas — Bob, age 89, was born in Olean, N.Y. on Feb. 27, 1937, to John and Mary Survil. He died Sunday (March 1, 2026) in Duncanville.
Bob was an engineer, working on several defense missile projects, as well as the Apollo and Gemini space capsules. He co-founded several Dallas companies related to the HVAC industry.
He was an avid outdoorsman, having hunted and fished from Alaska to Zimbabwe. Bob was an inventor and could fix anything! He was a longtime resident of Duncanville, and along with his wife, Faith, was a founding member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Debbie; son, John R. (wife, Cindy) and their twin boys, Jake and Tyler; and Greg’s daughters, Savannah (husband, Alex and sons, Beckham, Baylor and Bishop, on the way!), Sierra (husband, Matt and son, Rainer) and Shayna (husband, Konnor). He is also survived by brothers, Bern and Ray (wife, Nancy), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and their children.
He was preceded in death by Faith, his wife of 57 years; his youngest son, Greg; and his brothers, Ed and John B.
A Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Duncanville. A Memorial Mass will begin at 11 a.m. A reception with the family will follow at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. A private burial has been scheduled.
