Andrew John Bednarski, born Oct. 18, 1988, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at Buffalo General Medical Center, after a lengthy hospitalization. His loss leaves a deep heartbreak in the lives of all who knew and loved him.

Andrew proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the war in Iraq and Kuwait. His courage, resilience and unwavering loyalty to those he loved were defining parts of who he was.

Andrew is survived by his true love, Shawna Phillips; and three daughters, Haylie, Sylvia and Zoey, who were the greatest joys of his life. He is also survived by his mother, Jenny Watson (and her husband Bryan); his father, Mark Bednarski (and his wife, Susie); as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins who cherished him deeply.

Andrew was loved by many. His kindness, humor, and generous spirit touched countless lives, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

The family grieves deeply and will share information about a service or celebration of Andrew’s life if and when they are ready.
