BOLIVAR — Tracy A. Wright, 68, of Bolivar, passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at his home.
Tracy attended Little Valley Central School and moved to Texas shortly after. He worked with his father and brother in construction. He eventually returned to New York to retire.
He enjoyed spending his time and was well known for building creative custom cabins, furniture, including swings, treasure chests, children’s furniture and unusual planters from repurposed and natural materials.
A master at living off the grid, he was known for his ecofriendly lifestyle, and was dedicated to preserving natural resources and protecting the environment.
Surviving are his daughter, Jennifer (William) Bailey; and five grandchildren, of Houston, Texas; siblings, Rebecca (Ervin) Rhodes of Marysville, Ohio, Beth (Raymond) Dennis of Angelica, Nathan (Dru) Wright of Houston, Fay Wymer of Rushford and Troy (Cheryl) Wright of Cuba; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank Wright and Lorraine Wright Hawkins; and a nephew.
There will be a private burial at the convenience of the family.
In honor of his love and respect for the earth, the family suggests the best way to honor his life would be to plant a tree.
