Allegany photographer Dan Jordan went on a short trip recently to find migrating short-eared owls in Livingston County, where he captured this image. "Short-eared owls migrate to Western New York to escape the brutal winter weather from their breeding grounds in Canada," Dan said. "I think they may be second-guessing their decision to come here this year!" Dan also found time to help pull a couple's vehicle back on the road after a driving mishap on a snowy road.
