Larry D. Rockefeller, father, grandfather, great-grandfather

LITTLE GENESEE — Larry D. Rockefeller, 89, of Little Genesee, passed away Thursday (Jan. 22, 2026) at Olean General Hospital.

Born Jan. 2, 1937, in Bolivar, he was the son of Hershel and Ethel Mascho Rockefeller. On Dec. 24, 1956, in Coudersport, Pa., he married the former Josephine Knauer, who predeceased him Sept. 19, 2004.

Larry was a graduate of Bolivar Central School, Class of 1954.

He worked several jobs in the area, but retired from ACME Electric in Cuba after 31 years.

He loved anything to do with the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and trapping. He was an avid New York Yankees fan, coached youth football and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events throughout the years.

Larry has been a member of Faith Bible Church in Little Genesee since 1974.

Larry is survived by his children, Wanda (Steve) Edwards, Barry (Darla) Rockefeller and Donald (Barb) Rockefeller, all of Bolivar; 11 grandchildren, whom he was very proud of and loved very much; 20 great-grandchildren, and he was looking forward to the arrival of the 21st in July; and his sister, Marion Stuck of Bolivar.

He was predeceased by his wife and parents.

Friends will be received from 3 to 4 p.m. today (Jan. 24, 2026) at Faith Bible Church, 8137 Rte. 417, Little Genesee, after which time a funeral service will be held. Pastor Jerry Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
