HORNELL — Phillip Ray Volk, of 131 Hornell St., and a former resident of Hume, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday (Jan. 17, 2026) in St. James Hospital, Hornell.
He was born Sept. 21, 1946, a son of the late Nathan and Jean Beardsley Volk.
Phil was a graduate of Fillmore Central School and a former hard working employee of VanSlyke’s Dairy Farm in East Koy.
Surviving are his sisters, Phyllis (Gary) Swackhamer of Hornell and Judy (Richard) Heers of Immokalee, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Gerald “Jerry” Volk and John “Jack” Volk.
Family and friends may gather from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Friday (Jan. 23, 2026) in the Hume Baptist Church, 10851 Claybed Road, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Rev. Richard Heers, Phil’s brother-in-law and Pastor Joel Stroud will co-officiate. Burial will be in Alger Cemetery, Fillmore.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore.
