Allegany photographer Dan Jordan spotted this bald eagle Wednesday, just moments after leaving his home on one of his frequent forays to seek new images of the majestic birds, on South Nine Mile Road. "It caught me by surprise, since it was not close to the river," Dan says. No doubt eagles and other wildlife enjoyed the respite from the deep snow and freezing temperatures over the last several days, as wintry weather returned in earnest on Thursday.
