Phyllis M. Burch
She was born on August 8, 1931, in Wellsville, NY, a daughter of the late Leonard and Susie (Hall) Hackett. Phyllis worked for many years as a bank teller at M&T Bank in Delevan and also helped manage Meals on Wheels, generously giving her time to serve others. She loved flowers and birds and was a devoted member of the Yorkshire Free Methodist Church, where she held a deep love for the Lord.
She is survived by her sons, Dale (Joy) Burch of Machias and Steve (Lorri) Burch of Delevan; daughter-in-law, Shirley Burch of Arcade; friend, Cliff Zimmer; grandchildren, Harold Burch Jr., Debbie Bigham, Tika Isaacs, Tiffany Miller, Jared Burch, Joshua Burch, Heather Dibble, Michael Burch, Amy Hull, and Kim Burch; 34 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Herman Burch, who passed away in 2000; her son, Harold Burch; siblings, Kenneth Hackett, Ruth Johnson, Martha Miller, Helen Torrence, Clayton Hackett, Susie Ioannone, Leonard Hackett Jr., and Shirley Mae Peterson; and her granddaughter, Christie Burch.
Friends may call on Sunday, January 25, 2026, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main Street, Arcade. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Yorkshire Free Methodist Church, with interment to follow in Arcade Rural Cemetery at a later date in the spring.
