James B. ‘JB’ Jordan Sr.

FRIENDSHIP — James  B.“JB” Jordan Sr., 63, went to be with the Lord Thursday (Dec. 25, 2025) peacefully at his home.

Born Sept. 2, 1962, in Cuba, he was the son of Lee and Genevieve Cummins Jordan.

JB was a 1982 graduate of Friendship Central School. He went on to work for Fibercel Packaging in Portville for many years.

JB was a deacon and long-time member of the Restoration Church of Scio.

In his free time, he enjoyed trapping, hunting, racing, riding go-karts and he enjoyed a delicious beef on weck and breaded chicken wings. He will be remembered for his generous spirit and that he was always willing to give a hand where needed.

He is survived by his mother, Genevieve Clark of Olean; his children, JJ Jordan of Bolivar, Melinda Long of Portville and Tracy Long of Portville; two siblings Gigi  (Michael) Abdo of Olean and Tami Ayers of Wellsville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Lee Jordan; a great niece, Haleigh Jordan; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 31, 2025) at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Memorials if desired may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
