Edward VanBrunt, industrious, veteran, nautical enthusiast.

OLEAN — Ed VanBrunt, son of the late Merle and Pearl Hornish VanBrunt, passed peacefully into Glory Tuesday (Dec. 23, 2025) at the age of 87.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Neely VanBrunt; children, Douglas (Sunye) VanBrunt, Daniel VanBrunt, Debra (James) Lewis and David VanBrunt; his grandchildren, James VanBrunt, Jeanette VanBrunt, Christopher Lewis, Kelly Edwards and their families; as well as in-law siblings, Patti (Denny) Adams, Ruth (Daniel) Wentworth, Gene (Jacquie) Neely and Doug (Stephanie) Neely and their families.

He will be greatly missed by all who love him.

At Ed’s request, there will be no services held.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Olean First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 133 S. Union St., Olean, NY 14760.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean.
