PALM BAY, Fla. — Rhonda Dieter, 74, of Palm Bay, formerly of Eldred, Pa. and Allegany, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025.
Rhonda was born July 24, 1951, in Portville, N.Y., and was the daughter of John A. and Sara A. Head Dieter.
Rhonda was a 1969 graduate of Allegany Central School and a 1971 graduate of Jamestown Business College.
She was a secretary for the U.S. Air Force in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.; a secretary in the Office of Management and Budget in Washington, D.C.; a secretary and Electrical Physical Test Lab technician at Conap Inc. in Olean, N.Y.; and an inspector at AVX in Olean. She went back to Cytec in the lab again whereupon she retired after 33 years in 2015.
Rhonda liked to travel by driving to Arizona, North Carolina, Canada and Florida, where she eventually settled in 2016. She also liked to read.
Rhonda participated in the Corporate Cup for Conap in the two mile predicted time walk and the six-mile bike run and the volleyball competition, where she received a Louis Mara Award.
In March, 1977, she joined the Order of the Eastern Star Electa 84 in Olean (now merged with Tyler-Mizpah 97 in Portville, N.Y.) and was a grand representative to Florida from New York from 2021 to 2023, and she received her 50-year membership pin in March 2027. She was the presiding officer for the youth group Constellation of Junior Stars for five years. She was also a member of the Star in the East 109 in Bolivar, N.Y.
When she moved to Florida, she joined Harbor City 263 in Melbourne and Cocoa 35 in Cocoa Beach.
Rhonda is survived by a sister, Lynda Lee (Fred) Bradt of Palm Bay; two nieces, Renea (David Spencer) Welch of Palm Bay and Noelle (Lance) Ours of Olean; a great-nephew, Jonah Matthew Hepfer of Palm Bay; her aunt and uncle, Edith and Howard Cornwall of Olean; several cousins and friends; two lifelong friends, Karen (Ed) Butler of Olean and Nancy Pitcher of Alexandria, Va.; and good friends, Marsha (Rick) Topor of Portville, Nancy (David) Vandeusen of Olean and Cindy (Michael) Harrison of Palm Bay.
Rhonda was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, John Daniel Dieter.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 20, 2025) at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean. Members of the Tyler-Mizpah 97, Order of the Eastern Star of Portville, will conduct a memorial service at 12:45 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. The Rev. David W. Herne, pastor of the Heritage AFlame Ministry, in Bolivar, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery, with her parents and brother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
