Judith Ann Greene Ross, loving mother, grandmother and sister
WEST VALLEY — Judith Ann Greene Ross, 78, of West Valley, passed away suddenly Sunday (Dec. 14, 2025).
She was born Sept. 23, 1947, to Charles and Ruth Greene, and grew up in Eden.
Judy was a devoted animal lover, especially of dogs and horses. She worked as a veterinary assistant and guard dog trainer before spending many years as a paralegal.
Despite chronic illness, she found joy in her flower gardens and her dog Louise. An artist, Judy saw beauty in all of life and is now at peace in her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Judith was a member of West Valley United Methodist Church.
Judith is survived by her son, Michael (Michelle) Schreiner of Greenwich; 11 grandchildren, including Stephanie R. (Matthew) Hansen of Machias; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia (late George) McCall of North Carolina and Jeanne (Paul) Mest of Strykersville; and several nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind many friends and neighbors who were so helpful to her, along with her pastor, Cindy; dear friends, Alice, Judy D. and Doris Purves; and her church family at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in West Valley.
Judith was predeceased by her parents; and by her daughters, Lisa Jane (late Ted) Ellis and Katherine Ann Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and time to be announced in the spring.
