Terry L. Hodnett

PORTAGEVILLE — Terry L. Hodnett, of 11945 Wiscoy Road, passed away peacefully Thursday (Dec. 4, 2025) in the Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born July 21, 1959, in Warsaw, a son of the late Richard and Jeanette Bliss Hodnett. On July 9, 1994 he married Wendy Clinton, who survives.

Terry was a farmer all his life. His love for the farm life started at a young age. He bought into the family farm at just 19 years old, and in 1985 purchased the farm from his parents. After many years of milking cows, he sold the herd in 2001 to switch to raising dairy replacement heifers. With his family by his side, his heifer replacement business grew.

Terry’s trademark was always wearing bib overalls, driving Ford pickups and New Holland tractors. He loved working his land and spending time with friends and family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are their children, Trevor Hodnett of Portageville, Sara (Josh) McDowell of Belfast and Kristina (Luke) Johnson of Fillmore; two granddaughters; a lifetime friend, Mark (Terry) Sweet of Portageville; a sister, Lori Gibney of Belfast; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Deborah Wood.

Family and friends may gather from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 10, 2025) at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Sam Wolcott will officiate. Burial will be in East Koy Cemetery, East Koy.
