About 340 community members gathered in the Olean High School cafeteria Saturday for a period of fellowship and good food with the return of the school district’s free Thanksgiving dinner. Organized by Olean schools with Cindi Rhoades, family engagement counselor at the district, as the lead, the dinner comes together through a total volunteer effort of school staff, students and community members who gather the food and help prepare the hundreds of meals. About 50 volunteers were there Saturday to help make the dinner a success. Donors and community volunteer groups include the Olean Ancient Order of Hibernians, Olean Jr.-Sr. League Coasters, The Salvation Army, McDonald’s, Napoli Pizza, Jim’s Park and Shop and the Ellicottville and Belmont BOCES Culinary Arts programs.
