CHESHIRE, Conn. — Joan Wells died at the age of 90 on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Cheshire.

Joan was an active member of the Olean, N.Y.,  community from 1975 to 2006 and seemed to know everyone in town. She was the founding executive director of Interfaith Caregivers for 13 years.

At First Presbyterian Church she served as a deacon, elder and sang in the choir.

She is survived by her sons, Dave of Mesa, Ariz. and Bruce (Annabelle), who currently resides in London, England; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Her first husband, Rod Wells, an education professor at St. Bonaventure University, passed away in 1996.

A Celebration of Life will occur at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, followed by a lunch at First Presbyterian Church in Olean.
