Judy Lynn Barton, loving mother, grandmother and sister

OLEAN — Judy L. Barton, of 121 N. 15th St., passed away Friday (Aug. 29, 2025) at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family.

Judy was born April 2, 1961, in Olean, and was the daughter of Herbert and Marilyn Cole Barton.

Judy was a 1979 graduate of Allegany High School. She worked at the Castle Hotel, St. Joseph’s Nursing Home and then she worked at St. Bonaventure University for 23 years until her retirement in January of 2025.

Judy loved her pets, including feeding wild squirrels, but most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Judy is survived by two children, Michael R. (Jillian Maxson) Davis of Olean and Marilyn N. (Cody Dickens) Davis of Allegany; two grandchildren, Lydia S. Davis and Rylan A. Dickens; a sister, Lynn (Gregory) Church of Hinsdale and her children, Timmy Laluk, Tammy (Robert) Murphy; and great nephew, Ryan Murphy.

Judy was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Russell D. Barton in 1988; and her dog, Minnie.

Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 3, 2025) at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., at which time a funeral service will be held. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
