OAXACA, Mexico — Victoria Elizabeth “Torie” Jimenez Wiley, age 35, passed away Oct. 7, 2024, in Oaxaca, after a short battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Farmersville Station, N.Y., Torie was known for her sharp intellect, creative spirit and adventurous heart.
She attended West Valley Central School and went on to study at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
A lifelong scholar and artist, Torie’s many talents included music, writing, visual art and culinary arts.
Over the past decade, Torie made her home in Oaxaca, where she fully embraced the vibrant culture and cuisine of the region. She thrived in the local food and tourism scene — leading food tours, bartending and immersing herself in the craft and community of mezcal distillation.
One of her proudest accomplishments was having one of her original drink recipes published in the book Drinking Like Ladies, a recognition that reflected her creativity and passion for mixology. In recent years, she also completed coursework in cosmetics and business with plans to launch her own organic skincare line.
She is survived by her beloved partner, Rafael Jimenez, and his extended family in Oaxaca; her siblings, Samantha (Jeffrey) Bradley of Pittsford, N.Y., Lynn (Scott) Reynolds of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Dennis (Shannon) Wiley of Syosset, N.Y.; her nieces and nephews, Carlene, Brooks, Conner, Parker, Declan, Sloane, Alexander, Lucas, and Casen; and an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elizabeth Fordham Wiley.
Torie will be remembered for her fierce creativity, restless curiosity, and unwavering commitment to living life on her own terms. She walked to the beat of her own drum, pursuing her passions with intensity and heart. Her unique spirit left a lasting impression on every place she called home and every person she encountered.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday (July 18, 2025) at W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade, N.Y., with a sit-down ceremony beginning at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Torie’s memory are encouraged to make a donation to a foundation supporting cervical cancer awareness and research, such as The Foundation for Women’s Cancer.
