Patricia A. Cappellini
CUBA — Patricia A. Cappellini, 91, of Cuba, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, May 24, 2025.
Patricia was born May 31, 1933, in Asbury Park, N.J. She was the daughter of the late James Albert and Kathryn Rita Scanlon Martenhoff. Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, John Albert Cappellini. Together they raised nine children in Massapequa before moving to Cuba in 1971.
A new job opportunity brought John and Patricia to LeRoy in 1980, where Pat enjoyed hiking in Letchworth State Park, visiting the local library and packing for a local moving company while, most importantly, raising their three boys still at home.
Pat enjoyed family get-togethers with her children and grandchildren and loved cooking a big meal when they would visit. Their love for Cuba brought them back to the area in the late 1990s, where Patricia continued to enjoy the outdoors and looked forward to their winter trips to Naples, Fla. in her beloved Monte Carlo.
Pat leaves behind a legacy of love in her children, John (Charlotte Martines) Cappellini of Cuba, Alice (Michael) Bresney of Altamont, Kathryn (Kevin) Clark of Fairport, Ellen Frost of Bellefonte, Pa., James (Cheryl) Cappellini of Falmouth, Mass., Susan (George) Garaeu of Naples, Albert (Betsy Bonvissuto) Cappellini of Amherst, Thomas (Katie) Cappellini of Sylvania, Ohio and Daniel Cappellini (Heather Roberts) of Leavenworth, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pat was predeceased by her husband, John; her twin sister, Joan Esposito; sister, Mary Lou Freeman; and granddaughter, Amy Bresney.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday (June 13, 2025) at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday (June 14, 2025) at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 48 South St., Cuba.
