    Jeanette A. Cradduck

Jeanette A. Cradduck, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and aunt

PORTVILLE — Jeanette A. Cradduck, 87, of Portville, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at home, with her daughter by her side.

Jeanette was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Obi, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Childs Sisson. On Sept. 23, 1955, she married her loving husband of 64 years, Thomas Cradduck, who predeceased her July 30, 2019.

Jeanette was a 1956 graduate of Portville Central School and resided in Portville most of her life. She was raised on a farm and started work early in life, delivering newspapers to residents of Obi on horseback — she always said her horse “Daisy” was a bit too slow.

She worked at Eagle Tree Gifts in Portville, where she was assistant manager and right-hand woman to her daughter.

In her younger years, she enjoyed roller skating and was even a majorette. Jeanette also liked to travel, having gone up and down the east coast for years with her husband Tom, who was bringing up his staple “rust-free southern cars” for his business, Portville Auto Sales. She enjoyed family reunions and trips with her husband and family in their RV.

Jeanette is survived by her children, daughter Sherry (Cliff) Lippert of Portville and son James (Julie) Cradduck of North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Peggy Cradduck of Olean; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Dean (Rosie) Sisson; a sister-in-law, Carol Sisson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Tom; her parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth; a loving son, Bradley Jay Cradduck; brothers, Ronald and Rodney Sisson; and her beloved dog, Lola.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Jeanette starting at 1 p.m. Saturday (June 14, 2025) at the Westons Mills Fire Hall, Westons Mills.

Memorials if desired may be made to your local pet rescue facility or the Westons Mills Fire Dept., P.O. Box 601, Westons Mills, NY 14788.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean.

Online condolences can be expressed at www.guentherfh.com.
