CATTARAUGUS — The village of Cattaraugus will hold its first Local Planning Committee (LPC) meeting for the Cattaraugus Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.‘ Thursday in the Cattaraugus-Little Valley Central School cafeteria.
The meeting will include an overview of the DRI program, a review and discussion of the village’s winning DRI application, and a summary of the seven-month planning process culminating in a Strategic Investment Plan that will guide revitalization efforts.
It will also include an overview of the Open Call for Projects that will be held to solicit potential projects for funding consideration, project eligibility and funding criteria and immediate next steps including upcoming public workshops and events.
The LPC is composed of representatives from local government, community organizations, local businesses, and residents. The committee will continue to meet regularly until the plan is completed in late 2025.
This meeting is a working session for the LPC, but the public is welcome to attend. Time for public comments will be provided at the end of the meeting. Residents are encouraged to attend this and future LPC meetings and other upcoming events to learn more about the Downtown Revitalization Initiative and to submit their ideas for Cattaraugus.
The village was nominated by the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council and selected by New York state to receive a $10 million award through the State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative. The DRI investment will allow Cattaraugus to develop a Strategic Investment Plan and implement key catalytic projects that advance Cattaraugus’s vision for revitalization. Projects selected for DRI funding will transform the community and support a vibrant local economy.
