ELLICOTTVILLE —The Ellicottville Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 4 at the Ellicottville Memorial Library, 6499 Maples Road. There is a short business meeting before a presentation open to the public.
The speakers will be Shane White Eagle and the Spirit Hunters, who will talk about a ghost investigation they did in the United Church of Ellicottville and the Ellicottville Historical Museum in November. They spoke to the group last year, and the historical society is happy to have them back.
On Saturday, there will be a historical walking tour of Ellicottville beginning at 1 p.m. Meet at the village gazebo ahead of time. The tour will include seeing the houses of the forefathers who helped make Ellicottville the town it is today. There are a few new houses added to the tour this year.
Cost is $10 per person, cash or check accepted. The tour is about 90 minutes long. For more information, contact Ellen Frank, Ellicottville Town Historian, at (716) 474-8528.
Meanwhile, the museum, located at the northeast corner of Washington and Jefferson streets, is open every Saturday and Sunday, 1–4 p.m. There are volunteers available to show attendees around the museum. The historical society is seeking more volunteers, noting it’s a great way to meet new people from all over the United States and the world.
