The St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team (9-18; 2-10 Atlantic 10) will need to do something tonight it hasn’t done all season if it wanta a postseason invitation; win an Atlantic 10 road game.
The Bonnies are 0-6 on the road in A-10 play and need a win at Fordham (20-7; 10-2 A-10) tonight (7 o’clock) and a victory in the season finale at the Reilly Center Sunday against LaSalle to give themselves a chance at an Atlantic 10 Tournament berth.
Even then, the Bonnies need help from both VCU and LaSalle. The Rams must lose their last two games against Charlotte and Rhode Island while the Explorers would need to lose to Duquesne before coming to the Reilly Center on Sunday.
The odds are not very good, but the Bonnies are still not mathematically eliminated. A loss tonight would do the trick, however.
St. Bonaventure coach Jim Crowley is not concerned with other teams and postseason scenarios, he’s focused strictly on his team’s improvement.
