PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) -- Johan Lopez hit a two-run triple in the fourth inning, leading the GCL Rays to a 5-3 win over the GCL Pirates in the second game of a doubleheader on Wednesday. With the victory, the GCL Rays swept the short two-game series.

The triple by Lopez came in the midst of a five-run inning and gave the GCL Rays a 3-2 lead. Later in the inning, Abiezel Ramirez hit a two-run home run.

In the top of the sixth, GCL Pirates cut into the lead on a sacrifice fly by Sammy Siani that scored Tilsaimy Melfor.

Dauris Cordero (2-1) got the win in relief while Yandy Vega (0-1) took the loss in the Gulf Coast League game.

The GCL Rays swept both games of the doubleheader after winning the first game 4-1. GCL Rays improved to 4-2 against GCL Pirates this season.
