BOLIVAR — Genesee Valley's Dominic Sallazzo and Bolivar-Richburg's Adam Jones shared medalist honors Thursday, each shooting an 11-over-par 45 at Bolivar Golf Club.
But that wasn't the only common theme between the Jaguars and Wolverines in their Allegany County golf match.
B-R's top three golfers combined for a score of 154, while GV's best trio had a total card of 156. Ultimately, the Jaguars edged the Wolverines for a 28-27 win.
GV improved to 8-3, while B-R fell to 5-5.
"It ended up being a great match," Wolverines coach Rich DiMartino said. "All the ones and twos and threes came in close. It was the best match we've played all year, even though we ended up losing. We're starting to play some good golf just in time for the sectional qualifier, which is good to see."
