ST. BONAVENTURE — St. Bonaventure basketball fans hoping to see Matthias Runs on the court this season will have to wait another year.

Runs has been officially cleared to practice, but will not be eligible to play in the 2012-13 season, the athletics department announced Wednesday. He will have three years of eligibility beginnining as a sophomore in the 2013-14 season.

“I’m glad a resolution has been reached regarding Matthias’ eligibility,” coach Mark Schmidt said in a release. “We’re excited about Matthias’ potential as a player. A year of practicing with our team will provide him a great opportunity to grow in our program, as well as continue his development as a player. We look forward to next season when Matthias will be eligible to play in games.”
