OLEAN — Cody Bly scored a pair of unassisted first-half goals and Ty Riley (9 saves) made a point-blank save with just over two minutes left to spark Bradford High School to a 2-1 win over Olean High in the first round of the Huskies’ Soccer Invitational on Thursday.

Laim McNamee scored on a pass from Tim Kirk and Alex Austin recorded 11 saves for Olean High (3-1).

“It’s already become a cliche for us this season, but once again, it was a tale of two different halves,” said OHS coach Jim Charles. “They scored in the 11th minute and again in the 19th minute.

“After that, we controlled the game and, in the second half, we had multiple opportunities to score. Riley made a huge save on a shot from about 20 yards out near the end of the game. For a split second, I thought we tied it.”

Hornell defeated Jamestown, 2-1, in Thursday’s other first-round game.

OHS will take on Jamestown in Saturday’s 10 a.m. consolation game while the Owls (1-2) will meet Hornell in the title game at noon.
