WELLSVILLE — Wellsville police arrested a 17-year-old male on charges including performing a criminal sex act on a teenaged female, officers said.
The department announced Monday that Kameron S.Z. Bryan, of Wellsville, was charged as an adult with first-degree criminal sex act, a class B felony; and second degree unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child, both class A misdemeanors.
Wellsville Police Lt. Josh Kear said Tuesday the charges stem from an incident at Island Park in April. He said Bryan, a student at Wellsville Central School District, and a teen female he knew from school were at the park “hanging out together” during daylight hours.
Kear said Bryan allegedly performed a sex act on the teen in a bathroom at the park, and then “somehow manipulated” the female from leaving the bathroom, leading to the unlawful imprisonment charge. He specified the restraint was not by physical force.
Police learned of the incident through a Wellsville school resource officer, who “was contacted through the school,” Kear said.
A call made to Wellsville school officials was not immediately returned.
Bryan was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Christopher O’Connor. Bryan was committed to the Allegany County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 property bond, and is due back in Wellsville Village Court at 4:30 p.m. June 18.
