ALLEGANY — A Texas man is facing several charges after reportedly stealing a car from the Walmart parking lot and fleeing police.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff Office deputies, after receiving a complaint of a stolen vehicle from Walmart parking lot, pursued the vehicle from Interstate 86 westbound in Salamanca to Steamburg.

Kenneth L. Connors, 25, of 2933 Edd Road, Dallas, Texas, was taken into custody at approximately 9 p.m. Friday without incident after he lost control of the vehicle at the Steamburg exit.

Connors was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony; unlawful fleeing, a class A misdemeanor; and criminal mischief. His status was not reported.

Olean Police

  • Saturday, 2:26 p.m., no injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on State and Union streets. A vehicle operated by Jennifer M. Doty, 31, of 118 N. Barry St., Olean, was approaching the roundabout when it struck a vehicle operated by Corri E. Proctor, 20, of 1201 Brook St., Olean. Doty was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and following too closely, both infractions.
  • Saturday, 3:41 p.m., Kyle C. Vaughn, 27, of 36Fairfield Ave., #1, Jamestown, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor. Vaughn was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Olean City Court Tuesday.
  • Saturday, 4:14 p.m., Kaleb P. Amidon, 21, of 3 Howe Terrace, Wellsville, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor; operating out of class, a violation; and following too closely, an infraction.
  • Saturday, 11:11 p.m., Kaleb M. Kastler, 19, of 607 N. Union St., Olean, was charged with second-degree harassment, a violation. Kastler was issued an appearance ticket and due in Olean City Court June 18.
  • Sunday, 2:54 a.m., John d. Devereaux, 26, of 331 N. 11th St., Olean, as charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and third-degree assault, both class A misdemeanors. Devereaux was held pending arraignment.
  • Sunday, 4:31 p.m., Dwayne NMI Motley, 49, of 203 S. Second St., Olean, was charged with petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, after allegedly stealing sheets and pillowcases valued at $111.22 from Kohl’s. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Olean City Court Tuesday.

Salamanca Police

  • Sunday, no time reported, Bryce Lichy, 21, of Salamanca, was charged with operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration, an infraction, after a traffic stop. Lichy was issued an appearance ticket and due to appear in Salamanca City Court at a later date.
  • Sunday, no time reported, Joshua Calkins, 33, of Salamanca, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor, after a roadside investigation showed Calkins driving privileges were allegedly suspended. Calkins was issued an appearance ticket and due to appear in Salamanca City Court at a later date.
  • Sunday, no time reported, Latisha Postell, 24, of Jamestown, was charged on a warrant following a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 86. Postell posted $250 bail and is due in Salamanca City Court at a later date.
  • Sunday, no time reported, Philip Clark, 29, of Hinsdale, was charged with trespass, a violation, after he was found on the grounds of Seneca Allegany Casino while an active exclusion order was in effect. Clark was issued an appearance ticket and due to appear in Salamanca City Court at a later date.

  • — A one-vehicle accident was reported at 3:59 p.m. Saturday on Marble Springs and Edmunds roads. Darren L. Hittle, 53, of Delevan, was identified as the driver. No injuries were reported.
  • CARROLLTON — Phaleshia L. Germain, 28, of Brooklyn, was charged at 4:30 p.m. Saturday with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Germain was issued an appearance ticket.
  • BIRDSALL — A one-vehicle accident was reported at 5:05 p.m. Saturday on County Road 15B and Malone Road. Nickolas Andrew Horton, 28, of Belmont, was identified as the driver. No injuries were reported.
  • WARD — A one-vehicle accident was reported at 9:04 p.m. Saturday on State Highway 244 and Watson Road. Shawna M. Walsh, 29, of Scio, was identified as the driver. No injuries were reported.

— A one-vehicle accident was reported at 8:43 p.m. Saturday on Route 46 just north of North Dividing Road. Mark A. Carlson, 46, of Smethport, was identified as the driver. One injury was reported.
