GOWANDA — The Historic Hollywood Theater will host “We Are Star Dust,” Woodstock tribute concert on the 50th anniversary of Woodstock on Aug. 18.

More than 25 acts performed at the original festival. Those part of a band that would like to perform one or two of the original numbers from that crazy weekend in Bethel have a chance.

“Don’t forget all the solo artists that took the stage at Woodstock like Tim Hardin, Arlo Guthrie, Joan Baez, Melanie and others.,” organizers said. “Maybe your band would like to do a song or two from bands like The Jefferson Airplane, Canned Heat, The Who, Janis Joplin, Country Joe and the Fish, Credence Clearwater Revival, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Sha Na Na, Mountain or any of the other Woodstock bands.”

The crowd will vote for their favorite act. The winners will receive special Woodstock prizes.

There will be music, games, dancing, photo fun and lots more at the “We Are Star Dust” event at the Hollywood starting at 5 p.m. Aug. 18. Call 532-6103 to sign up.
