INDEPENDENCE — A late Wednesday night traffic stop in the village of Wellsville led to Allegany County’s seventh methamphetamine bust early Thursday morning in the town of Independence.
It was the 103rd such bust in New York state this year.
Following the traffic stop at 9:30 p.m. on Clark Street, Wellsville Police arrested Zackery D. Billings, 23, of 1485 Forsythe Road, charging him with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor; and driving while ability impaired by drugs. Also arrested was a passenger, Timothy D. Billings, 22, of the same address, who was similarly charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic needle and an unrelated charge of failure to appear in court.
