Democratic congressional candidate Nate Shinagawa’s campaign asnnounced Monday that internal polling showed him five points behind Rep. Tom Reed, R-Corning.
Mr. Shinagawa said in a prepared statement that the new 23rd Congressional District race “has tightened dramatically, making it a 5-point sleeper race.”
The Reed campaign did not immediately respond to a request for a reply to Mr. Shinagawa’s assertion the race is narrowing.
According to an internal Shinagawa poll conducted last week, the gap between Rep. Reed, a freshman Republican, “narrowed significantly between late August and mid-October.
