WELLSVILLE — For the past 10 years, Allegany County fire, ambulance and police crews have rallied for the Allegany County Emergency Services Expo.
This year’s expo will be slightly different, though.
Along with the normal exhibitions of equipment, thoughts will be on a Wellsville native’s efforts to better the community as he struggles against cancer.
Rod Biehler, the organizer of the event with WZKZ/WQRW radio stations, said this year will honor Christopher Eldridge.
“He’s been a volunteer with the Wellsville Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years,” Mr. Biehler said, adding Mr. Eldridge also worked in the Wellsville Police Department dispatch center and has worked with other groups across the area. “He has done so much for the community, and with this situation he’s on his last legs.”
