ROCHESTER - News, notes and other information from the Bonnies’ 69-68 loss to St. John’s on Tuesday night at Blue Cross Arena.

- St. Bonaventure fell to 5-12 all-time against St. John’s, dropping the last three contests in the series. The game was the first in 24 years between the two programs, and only the third since 1960. St. Bonaventure’s last win in the series came in 1960 when it topped the Red Storm, 106-71, in the second round of the NIT.

- The Bonnies dropped to 8-25 all-time against the Big East Conference, losing 10 of their last 11 to those opponents. Their lone win in that span was last year’s 64-63 triumph at Rutgers.

- Da’Quan Cook set a new career high with his nine points. The sophomore forward gave the Bonnies a much-needed spark in the first half, collecting seven points - including a monster putback dunk - in 18 minutes. The Elizabeth, N.J. native finished 3-for-4 from the field and 3-for-4 from the line with three rebounds.

- The Bonnies finished just 1-for-8 from behind the arc and are now 3-for-16 from 3-point range this season. Their one 3-pointer is the lowest 3-point total in a game under coach Mark Schmidt. Last year, they knocked down just two on three different occasions - against Rutgers, Niagara and Massachusetts.

- St. Bonaventure held the edge in points in the paint (44-30), points off turnovers (15-13) and second chance points (10-7), but the Red Storm had more fast break points (12-4) and more bench points (21-13).

- The Bonnies’ largest lead of the game was three (19-16) with 9:35 left in the first half. They trailed for nearly all of the second half before taking a one-point lead with only 11 seconds remaining. St. John’s biggest lead was eight (16-8) with 13:47 left in the first half. In all, there were 10 lead changes and nine ties.

- In two games this season, the Bonnies have shot nearly 60 percent from the field, its best two-game stretch in three seasons under Schmidt. While Bona finished just 1-for-8 from 3-point range last night, it finished an impressive 25-for-38 from inside the arc, good for 66 percent.

- Andrew Nicholson picked up his second foul at the 9:58 mark of the first half and sat for the remainder of the period. With Nicholson on the bench, the Bonnies were able to stay in the game by finding ways to the basket to finish inside or draw fouls. Malcolm Eleby, Ogo Adegboye and Cook did the most damage in that span, collecting 14 out of the team’s 17 points while Bona went into the half down by only two.

- Brett Roseboro made his St. Bonaventure debut after sitting the out the opener to rest a separated right shoulder. The 6-10 forward finished 0-for-1 from the field with a steal and two fouls in six minutes of action.

- Seven different Bonnies played at least 21 minutes while Jonathan Hall led the team with 35 minutes played. Freshman forwards Demitrius Conger and Jake Houseknecht and junior guard Lewis Leonard did not see any action.

- As the game was played in Rochester, several former Bonnies who are Rochester natives were honored during the media timeout at the 8-minute mark of the first half. Those on hand to receive commemoration were Pat Olivetto (1974-76), D.J. Monaghan (1963-65), Mike Wager (1985-89), Dan Putney (1989-91), Tyler Relph (2006-08), Mike Sheehey (1983-84), Glenn Hagan (1975-78), Mark Jones (1980-83) and former coach Larry Weise.

- The Bonnies fell to 8-9 all-time in Rochester and have lost four-straight at Blue Cross Arena. Their last win there was a 79-78 triumph over Charlotte in 2000.

- Attendance was an enthusiastic 4,181, which included a large traveling student contingent and many area alumni.
