ST. BONAVENTURE - After posting two goals and an assist in the last two games, senior Sam Maheu earned Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the Atlantic 10 on Monday afternoon.

This is the first men’s soccer weekly award since Maheu won a Rookie of the Week honor in 2006. The forward has been on fire since the middle of September when he racked up two goals against Canisius.

On Wednesday, the Ottawa, Ontario, native netted a quick shot past Buffalo’s keeper for his fifth goal of the season in the 2-1 win. Maheu then tossed in the second goal of the 3-1 win against Niagara on Sunday. He also passed out a helper in the first goal of the game.

He now ranks seventh on the Bonnies’ all-time scoring list with 17 goals and nine assists for a total of 43 points. Maheu stands second in the A-10 for points with 14. He also lands second in goals with sixth.

St. Bonaventure returns home to prepare for a pair of Atlantic 10 games at McGraw-Jennings Field. The Bonnies take on Fordham on Friday at 3:30 p.m. and then play La Salle on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
