Salamanca volleyball ups mark to 8-0
SALAMANCA - Continuing its undefeated campaign, the Salamanca Central School girls’ volleyball team handed Cassadaga Valley a 25-18, 25-9, 25-12 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Division II loss, Wednesday night.
For the Warriors (8-0 overall, 8-0 league), Ashley Abrams contributed 15 kills, 19 digs and two blocks. Katie Auge had 17 kills, while Hannah Reynolds had eight kills and seven blocks.
Brittany Haines distributed 36 assists and had 15 digs for the Warriors.
“Cassadaga Valley has really improved since the last time we played them,” said Salamanca co-coach Colleen Wiedman. “We played well and we had a chance to work on a couple of things.
“It’s not too much of a hot start because we have so many people coming back from last year. It’s a senior-dominated team, they’re very focused and we have a goal that we want to reach. We do have to take it one game at a time because, unfortunately, we do have some targets on our backs.”
